Feb 14, 2006 · Yea, I just watch High Tension for the first time..I don't know if it was like what was seen in theaters according to some of these posts. I watch the UNRATED special edition and it had the reveal earlier. Also to respond to the person above, the entire film was dubbed in english, except for certain parts which i thought was rediculous.

Alexandre Aja's "High Tension" is a slasher film about a madman prowling a rural area of France, chopping, slicing and crunching his way through, let's see, a body count of five or six people, including a small child that the film does not neglect to show crumpled and dead in a cornfield. High Tension gives us the BEST and WORST in movie making. As for the BEST - On the basis of a VERY gory psycho/slasher it works quite well. I did feel some tension in parts and the story moves along quite well with some of the MOST blood curdling gory special effects I have ever seen in a movie. Amazingly realistic beyond imagination.
Recently, I saw Haute tension a.k.a. High Tension. I could follow the movie well until the weird twist in the end where we are shown that Marie and the killer is the same person (in Marie's body). I thought the ending was a bit incoherent as the movie couldn't support the idea of Marie having a second, murderous personality.
